| Decompositions Zeus Henderson
DVD Released
December 2007. BUY IT NOW, DANGIT!
Well, if I get run over by a train tomorrow, at least I can be proud
that I accomplished this! A compilation of over 20 videos shot on
Super8 movie film and recorded on 4-track back in the day. I would've
released it in the early '90s but DVDs hadn't been invented yet. Ink 19 REVIEW |

Ponytail Orange
Hat
Released
December 2005. This groovy 4 1/2 song EP is the
first Hat release including guitarist Lee Flier
and drummer Eskil Wetterqvist. The first batch
featured a 3-D cover and an olfactory experience
not easily forgotten. |
 |
The Orange
Hat Hour: Volume One Orange
Hat 2 DVD set including four early episodes
of our 2002 Atlanta cable TV show The Orange Hat
Hour. Sort of a combination of Monkees, SCTV, and
Monty Python (well, we'd like to think so).
Available through Circle Sky Records. |

|
Back Down Amy
Henderson Released September 2003. Little
sister Amy has finally released her first real CD
and it sounds amazing. I played bass and other
odd gadgets |

|
The Essential
Shawn Mullins Shawn Mullins Compilation
CD on Sony released April 2003. I only pop up on
one song, the great "This Time/Last
Time", but now I can honestly say that Elton
John and I are on the same CD. |

|
Psychedelic
Elevator Orange Hat VHS
released Dec. 2001. That's right kids, Orange Hat
has a 40 minute movie with videos for 9 songs and
lots of goofiness from the boys in the band. With
cameos from various Atlanta musicians and TV
personalities. You need this. The precursor to
our short-lived but essential weekly television
show. |

|
Tales of
Madness and Horror Gerard McHugh CD released
November 2001. Gerard's all star cast includes
Michael Lorant from Big Fish Ensemble, Emily
Saliers and Amy Ray from the Indigo Girls, Andy
Offat Irwin, and many more. I play bass on a few
songs. The demented cover artwork on this CD is
one of my all time faves. |

|
The Shut Ups The
Shut Ups CD released 2001. New wavey power
pop. One of my favorite discs in recent memory,
no really. Weird and wonderful. I played the slappy bass on
"Do the Don't" |

|
The
Age of Automation Modify
CD EP released 2001. New music from our favorite
cable access astronauts. I co-wrote
"Automaton" , co-produced, engineered,
made odd noises, took photos, and laid out the CD
cover. Fun,fun,funn |

|
The First Ten
Years Shawn Mullins CD
compilation released 1999 on Columbia Records.
Wait, isn't that a real record label? I played
bass and sang on a couple of songs. |

|
Pufferfish Orange
Hat CD released in 1999 on
Cringe Records. Certainly the best O-Hat album
with one of the best O-Hat lineups and Christo's best
batch o'songs. It also got the best reviews and
sold the best of any O-Hat anything. Our best
beast, in other words. Our little psych-pop
sea-faring friend holds a special place in my
mutant heart. |

|
Guillotine
Music Sampler #1 Various Artists CD
compilation released 1999. Orange Hat and Wild
West Picture Show both have songs on this disc.
Long, long out of print and hard to find, it's
notable for having an exceptionally well mastered
version of Humpty Dumpty. |

|
Wild West
Picture Show
self-titled CD
released in 1999. Country cow-punk. Here's the
ultimate compliment..."Keli Mercadante's
high-energy twang is backed by her Wild bunch of
soulful rockers, guys who sound like they could
play every song off Exile on Main Street in their
sleep and finally force the Stones into
much-deserved retirement. (Greg Nicoll, Creative
Loafing) |

|
Humpty Dumpty
/ Entropy Orange Hat 7" vinyl
45rpm single released in 1997. Came with 3-D
glasses that made the 2-D cover design enjoyably
painful. No, that's a GOOD thing. The single was
pressed on RED vinyl too. Was simultaneously
considered our best and worst release, depending
on who you asked. |

|
Wild And Free The
Bugaboos children's cassette by
Gerard McHugh and Melanie Hammet released in 1996
featuring Emily Saliers, Rob Gal, Mike Lorant and
many others. I played bass on 8 songs. Our pet
squirrel Nigel was featured on the cover. |

|
Bon Vivant Sissie
Lang cassette EP released
in 1996. I played bass on most of these songs.
Sissie and I have been friends since middle
school ( over 25 years ago...yikes ) |

|
Pterodactyl
Universe Orange Hat released in
1995. We slaved away for nearly three years on
this critter and she sank without a trace.
Features a couple of amazing solos from David
Patterson and songs about cannibalism, six year
old girls, Mariachis, euglenas, more mannequins
and a ditty about whacking dinosaurs. "She
Was a Friend" might be the best Hat song
ever. |

|
Extended
Playground The Singles 4 song
cassette EP released in 1993. Recorded in Athens by the legendary John Keane (REM). I played bass and
David Patterson plays more amazing guitar solos.
Singer/songwriter Brian Matson later played bass
in Pizzaland. |

|
Pork Rinds Orange
Hat 70 minute video companion to the 30
minute Pork cassette. Released in 1992. It's all
here: encounters with drunk rednecks, mannequin
lust, grooming habits of beavers, slow-mo rabid
cat attacks, mannequin abductions in midtown
Atlanta, Ron Pirkle, the pig hill-of-fame, Robert
Plant stranded on Gilligan's Island, and best of
all, Laurie Partridge NAKED. Yes! Not to mention
a soundtrack chocked full of over 20 Orange Hat
chestnuts! |

|
Better Days Shawn
Mullins CD and cassette
released on SMG in 1992 . I played bass, sang
backup, and helped design the CD cover. |

|
Pork! Orange
Hat cassette released in
1990 . Juvenile, sick, lo-fi, and just about
perfect. Includes classics such as Furry
Cave, Tease The Beaver, Steel Rod, and,
well, you get the idea. Partially recorded on
Beave's waterbed. A true classic. |

|
Sentimental
Holocaust Zeus Henderson cassette
1990. My magnum opus ode to death and decay,
darkness and rust, kudzu and cemeteries, angels
and bulldozers. Just dumb enough to not be
pretentious. If I get run over by a bus tomorrow,
this is what I want to be remembered for. |

|
Shabbard and
The Indelible Myrapids of the Sky Cafe Zeus
Henderson cassette 1989.
Psychedelic pop explosion created while my head
was saturated with the Move, Small Faces, Love,
Syd, the Porpoise Song, and Magritte. Oh yeah,
those Beatle guys too. If I get run over by a
second bus tomorrow, this is the other thing I
want to be remembered for. |

|
Paisley Thrash Orange
Hat cassette EP 1989.
Amateur garage bliss is achieved at rocket speed
as we fall all over ourselves with idiot glee.
Recorded mostly live in the studio, this captures
our early twenties with sloppy perfection.
Charming in a baby picture sort of way. |

|
Princess of
Wails Orange Hat cassette
1987. Basement 4-track recordings with 48-track ambitions spiced with
some rather demented Prince influences. Occasionally inspired and
occasionally dreadful. Not half bad, really. This cover is still my
fave. The dreamy green and day-glo orange makes me want to lick
it! |
|
Tales of Zeus Zeus
Henderson cassette 1986.
Recorded on a 4-track when I was just a wee tyke
with a head full of mush. It's juvenile, crude,
and absurd but as lovable as a sick teddy bear.
The jokes still make me laugh and the
ridiculously convoluted chord progressions are
still hard to play. What more could you ask of an 18 year old? |
