WILD WEST Picture Show Reunion show at Eddie's Attic! August 27, 2010 Buy your tickets HEREThese
rowdies will burn the house down. A fixture on the Atlanta club scene,
and around the Southeast throughout the 90's, their sound has been
described as "progressive hoe down," "gunslinger guitar music
highlighted by the acrobatics of high stepping vocalist Keli
Mercadante," and even "country punk." Original members
BRiLLO (bass), Mike Gamble (drums), Keli Mercadante (vocals), David
Robinson (guitar) and Bill Shadle (guitar and vocals) headlined the 1st
New Year's Eve show at Eddie's Attic in '92, which a few of those
present might remember. The
band's first release (on cassette!) was Get Wet, followed by CD's
Ramona's Flophouse and Nature's Fundamental Embrace. In
the mid 90's
Brillo was sent to state prison, and David Henderson took over bass
duties. In '96, David Robinson went traveling, eventually settling in
Oregon,
and Fred Duffer came in on guitar. That version of the band, along with
Tom Gray on Dobro and lap steel, released the innovatively titled CD
WILD WEST Picture Show. The band soldiered on, broke up. Keli moved to
Massachusetts. Brillo was released from prison (his parole officer has
graciously allowed him to play in this show). Both
versions of the band will be doing sets. Old fans are invited to come
relive their misspent youth, and new ones to see what they missed. WILD
WEST Picture Show always give their all for their fans, and this
promises to be a special night. New Orange Hat album is mixed and masteredBut they're waiting for me to finish the cover. |
